Ignore any previous negative reviews about this hotel. This was by no means our experience and in-fact totally opposite. Maybe some guests normally stay at the Ritz, Savoy or even Claridges, but this is a seaside hotel without butlers who bow to every demand. That’s the negativity out of the way so here is my review. We have stayed here previously and was so impressed had to return. We were welcomed by both Sarah and Berin (the owners) as we parked up at the FREE rear hotel car park. Both were extremely cheerful and welcomed us back to Llandudno. The hotel is situated right on the promenade with outstanding views over the sea, Great Orme and Little Orme. Fantastic if you want a walk along the promenade and soak up the scenery. The main shopping areas of Mostyn Street and Madoc Street are only a few minutes walk away and you will pass numerous bars/restaurants along the way. The room was superb, comfortable and spotlessly clean. I usually struggle to sleep with Pillows that are not my own, but the ones in the hotel were better than ours. There is a bar in the hotel with magnificent views to watch the sun go down. Breakfast was fresh, plentiful and served hot. There is a coffee machine that serves the best coffee. We were so impressed by the service, welcoming and friendliness of the owners, we will definitely be returning.

Four friends and I went on a three day Rabbie’s tour of north Wales. We booked three rooms at The Shelbourne hotel. They were all very clean and comfortable. We enjoyed staying at this hotel. The owners and staff were very helpful, friendly and the breakfast they provided was very good. I highly recommend this lovely hotel.

We had a lovely stay at the Shelbourne in Llandudno a few weeks ago. We had a great cosy room at the front of the hotel with amazing views of the Great Orme, sea and promenade. Lovely views at breakfast it was a great way to wake up. We did eat out in the early evening but we had drinks in the bar later on. Great hosts, who made us feel very welcome. We just wanted a quiet break away and we will definitely be back.

I have stayed at the Shelbourne a couple of times in different rooms and I have never been disappointed. I always book through the website or call them to book in order to get the best deals. My absolute favourite room that I have stayed in is room 7, which is one they have done up in the past couple of years, and it feels like a real treat to stay in there. The beds are together to make a super king, so much more room than my double at home, and also an absolutely stunning view of the bay. Most recently I have stayed in room 5 with a partial sea view, and again, another great room. The owners are also a delight and so chatty. Always have good recommendations to eat food out in the evening. Love the breakfast too, lots of options and always finish breakfast full. Would stay again and recommend others to stay too!
